Madison serves as the Workforce Development Health Educator at the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH), Division of Public Health Protection and Safety, Center for Foundational Health. In this role, she manages the Kentucky Public Health Exploration Program (KY-PHEP), which provides education to high school students, parents, and educators about the numerous career opportunities available within the public health field. In collaboration with local, state, and national agencies, KY-PHEP provides public health career presentations, workshops, and hands-on activities at conferences, camps, and other events. Each student interaction is an effort to build and recruit a diverse, response-ready public health workforce.
Before joining KDPH, Madison worked as a Clinical Education Manager with the Area Health Education Center (AHEC), Springfield, MO. She managed the scheduling and onboarding materials for medical students throughout their 3rd and 4th year clinical clerkships. She also served as the communication liaison between medical schools, hospitals and clinics and managed a system to monitor health professions students completing rotations in the region.
In 2021, Madison earned a Master of Public Health, followed by a Master of Health Administration from Missouri State University in 2022. Her academic journey was accompanied by her role as a Graduate Assistant for the Ozarks Public Health Institute, Springfield, MO.
Outside of work, Madison enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and playing with her German Shepherd, Shiva.
