I currently work as a Registered Nurse in the Epidemiology department of Lincoln Trail District Health Department. In my current role, I conduct communicable disease investigations and serve as the TB Coordinator for our counties. Lincoln Trail District Health Department covers 6 counties: Hardin, Larue, Nelson, Marion, Meade, and Washington. I am also a member of our agency’s HEAL team (Health Equity Advisory Liaison)- which works to assess and develop ideas that promote equity and inclusion throughout our agency. I am also bilingual in Spanish and frequently translate written material for our health department in addition to interpreting for our Spanish speaking patients in our clinics. I have been a public health nurse for 5 years, starting out in our Hardin County clinic, before moving into Epidemiology during the COVID 19 Pandemic where I trained and supervised over 30 Disease Investigators. Prior to this, I worked at Norton Women’s and Children’s hospital as a Labor & Delivery nurse for 3 years. I have my BSN from University of Louisville, where I graduated with honors in 2015.
