Amanda Beth ShaferBSW

Amanda recently joined the Kentucky Department for Public Health in the Division of Prevention and Quality Improvement as Kentucky Primary Care Office Director. Her team serves as a bridge between healthcare providers and HRSA. They are the state’s advocate to apply for areas to be certified as a Health Professional Shortage Designation Area. The office assists as a resource for education and technical support of National Health Service Corp, physician Visa Waivers, and the State Charitable Health Assistance program. She has an Associate of Arts from Morehead State University and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Asbury University. Amanda has first-hand experience of healthcare needs through former work in Medical Assisting and Social work. She has lived in rural areas of Central and Eastern Ky throughout her life.
