Marina Rust (she/her) is a Bowling Green, KY native with a degree in Sociology from Georgetown College. In college she was also able to study at Oxford University for six months and visited London, Cambridge, and Dublin.
Out of college, Marina worked as a store manager in retail in Nashville, TN. More recently, Marina was the Applied Practice Experience Coordinator for the Department of Public Health at Western Kentucky University, helping students connect to public health professionals for real-world application of their in-class curriculum. In this academic setting, she became familiar with accreditation and its purpose, which led her to her current role. Marina now serves as the Accreditation Coordinator at Barren River District Health Department and facilitator for the BRIGHT Coalition. She supervises two Health Strategists, and together her team leads performance management and quality improvement efforts for the agency. In her free time, Marina can be found at concerts or curled up with her two cats watching movies.
