HANDS Supervisor
Lake Cumberland District Health Department
Somerset, Kentucky

I have worked with the Lake Cumberland District Health Department for 16 years, and during that time, the HANDS program has been a big part of my career. I began my work with HANDS in Pulaski County and later became a home visitor in Wayne County. As a home visitor, I had the opportunity to work closely with families, support parents, and connect them with resources that could make a difference in their lives.

My career has now come full circle, as I currently serve as the HANDS Supervisor for Pulaski County, the same county where my journey with HANDS began. Being a supervisor has given me the opportunity to use my experience as a home visitor to support and encourage my staff. I enjoy watching them grow in their roles, working together as a team, and finding ways to provide the best support possible to the families we serve.

I have a Bachelor of Social Work degree and have always enjoyed helping others. Over the years, I have learned that leadership is something you continue to develop through experience, challenges, and learning from the people around you.

Outside of work, I am a proud mother of three children—two daughters and one son. My family is a very important part of my life, and I enjoy spending time together and making memories whenever we can.

I am honored to be selected for the 2026–2027 Kentucky Public Health Emerging Leadership Institute. I am excited for the opportunity to grow as a leader, learn from others in public health, and bring new ideas and experiences back to my team and organization.
