Candy Mitchell

Program Coordinator
Kentucky Department for Public Health
Frankfort, Kentucky

My name is Candy Mitchell, and I live on a farm in a small community outside of Frankfort, Kentucky. I am married, have two grown children, and am a proud Grammy to a new grandbaby. Family is very important to me, and I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible.

I work for the Kentucky Department for Public Health, where I support public health and environmental health programs. I recently took over the Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) program, which has given me the opportunity to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities. I enjoy working in public health because it allows me to make a positive impact on the health and safety of communities across Kentucky.

I am also pursuing my bachelor’s degree at Eastern Kentucky University and expect to graduate in 2027. Balancing work and school can be challenging, but I enjoy learning and pushing myself to grow. In my free time, I enjoy working in my flower beds and garden, spending time on our farm, camping with my family, and making memories with the people I love.
