I am a registered nurse and program coordinator with the Martin County Health Department in Eastern Kentucky. My nursing background includes public health, critical care, forensic nursing, and community-based care. In my current role, I work to improve access to health education, prevention services, screenings, and chronic disease resources for individuals and families in rural and underserved communities.
I am actively involved in public health initiatives focused on diabetes prevention and management, community health screenings, maternal and child health, and other programs that address the unique health needs of rural populations. I enjoy collaborating with healthcare providers, community organizations, and local partners to strengthen available resources and improve health outcomes.
I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialization at Walden University. My long-term goal is to become a family nurse practitioner while continuing to serve rural and underserved communities in Eastern Kentucky.
Through the Kentucky Public Health Emerging Leadership Institute, I hope to strengthen my leadership skills, expand my professional network, and gain new strategies that will help me make a meaningful and lasting impact in public health.
