Gunnar Kennedy currently serves as an Informatics Epidemiologist for the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH). He is a member of the class of 2015 at Ball State University where he acquired two Bachelor of Science degrees in Geography: one with a concentration in Meteorology and the other in Geographic Information Science (GIS). Upon graduation, he worked as Geospatial Systems Specialist at the University of Kentucky from 2015 – 2022; where he served as a main administrator and data editor for the campus’ GIS. In 2019, he began working on his Master of Public Health (MP) with a concentration in Epidemiology at the University of Kentucky. In 2020, while simultaneously working on the COVID response at the University of Kentucky, he also worked as a graduate student with KDPH; eventually joining the KDPH team full-time in 2022. Gunnar acquired his MPH in the summer of 2022 and a Graduate Certificate in Biostatistics in Spring of 2023. Now that he has free time, he enjoys catching up on the pile of books on the shelf, going to Orange Theory, and fumbling his way through songs on bass guitar.
