Jessica Hughes is an employee of Grayson County Health Department (GCHD), where she works in a multitude of departments. Jessica splits her time between Environmental Department as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist/ Environmentalist III, Clinic as a RN, Academy as a CPR Instructor, and her most recent role as Accreditation Coordinator for the health department.
Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Science from Loras College while playing basketball for her college team. She went on to acquire her Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University. While working at GCHD, Jessica returned to school to earn her RN degree.
Before coming to public health, Jessica worked as an Occupational Therapist and has over 20 years’ experience specializing in geriatrics, with 12 years in management as a Rehab Director.
Her professional interest includes learning all she can about public health to assist her company with reaching accreditation status. When she is not working, Jessica enjoys spending her free time with family and relaxing with their 3 dogs. She believes learning is a constant journey and it is never too late to learn something new.
