Heidi Hendricks is from Perthshire, Scotland.  Since relocating to Kentucky, she has transitioned from clinical healthcare into public health, supporting statewide respiratory disease surveillance and epidemiology efforts.  She has been contracted to Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH), Division of Epidemiology and Health Planning since 2020.  Initially she was a COVID-19 disease investigator and having had several role advancement opportunities during her time with KDPH, she now serves as Respiratory Virus Epidemiology Support Specialist within the Viral Respiratory Section of the Immunization Branch including acting as lead for non-flu respiratory outbreak surveillance efforts.

Prior to her time with KDPH, Heidi worked with National Health Service Scotland for 16 years as an Occupational Therapist (OT). Before relocating she served as a Highly Specialist Clinical OT Team Lead in Assessment and Rehabilitation for Medicine for the Elderly and was also a Dementia Champion and Educator. She earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in Occupational Therapy from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.

In her spare time, Heidi enjoys being outdoors, traveling and spending time with family.  She has a passion for snowboarding and is a multi-instrumentalist. Her enthusiasm for growth and new experiences can be seen in all areas of her life.
