Virginia is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) holding a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in English from the University of British Columbia. She began her Public Health career with the Kentucky Food Safety Branch, where she previously served as Coordinator for the Home-Based Processing, Body Art, and Labeling Compliance programs, and finally as the state’s Manufactured Foods Grant Coordinator. Virginia is now the Regulatory Quality Assurance Performance Consultant coordinating state-wide quality assurance standardizations for Local Health Department Environmental services. She is involved in several public health associations including the Association of Food and Drug Officials of the Southern States (AFDOSS), where she acted as board president from 2023-2024.
