Grant Gillion

Grant is a lifelong Kentuckian and a graduate of Midway University with a BA in Organization Leadership and Management. He has spent the past 10 years with the Emergency Preparedness and Response Branch at the Kentucky Department for Public Health. Grant has filled numerous roles within the Branch including Training and Exercise Program Manager, Emergency Planner, and is currently the Emergency Preparedness Section Supervisor. Prior to working at KDPH, Grant began a career with Kentucky State Government at Kentucky Emergency Management where he served as the Logistics Coordinator and later as the Hazardous Materials Program Manager. Before coming to State Government, Grant worked in the private sector at a major petroleum products and retail service company in which he managed numerous locations and lead the region’s environmental, health and safety team. Additionally, Grant began his career at county government and spent over four years as a Firefighter/EMT. Grant has numerous professional certificates including: FEMA’s Advanced Professional Certificate and is a Master Exercise Practitioner. When not at work Grant enjoys spending time with his children and being outdoors or on the water.
