Danielle Banks

Danielle Banks is a Public Health Laboratory Scientist III with the Kentucky Department for Public Health Division of Laboratory Services in the Mycobacteriology Lab. She obtained a B.S. in Forensic Science from Cedarville University in 2015 and an M.S. in Forensic DNA & Serology from the University of Florida in 2017. These well-rounded programs led Danielle toward developing diverse work experience in public service both in criminal justice with the FBI and laboratory services in private, public and governmental settings. Since joining KDPH, Danielle has consistently contributed to the excellence and improvement of the tuberculosis testing program. Danielle represented the Commonwealth of Kentucky well during poster presentations at the National Tuberculosis Coalition of America’s 2024 National TB Conference where she presented novel process improvements which significantly improved tuberculosis testing results in the KDPH laboratory. Within the Commonwealth, Danielle has additionally contributed to the development of the “State Health Improvement Plan 2024-2028” to identify statewide public health priorities for the next five years and set achievable goals and implementation standards. This is just one example of Danielle’s commitment to excellent, equitable public service for all members of the diverse population of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
