Leslie Boardman, BSN, RN, serves as the Clinic Nurse Coordinator, Accreditation Coordinator, and Vaccine Coordinator for the Greenup County Health Department in Greenup, KY. She has been a dedicated member of the health department team for six years, with a strong commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of the Greenup County community as a whole.
Leslie’s leadership is grounded in listening to her community and bringing people together to turn shared priorities into meaningful action. Through the Community Health Assessment (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) process, she has helped strengthen partnerships and support community-identified priorities, including diabetes, overweight/obesity, dental care, smoking cessation, and access to care. Collaboration was essential to addressing the social determinants of health that influence community wellbeing.
Building on this work, Leslie helped develop Grow Well Greenup, a community partner-led program offering free, fun interactive activities, education, and opportunities for connection through evidence-based strategies. Guided by the CHA and CHIP priorities, Grow Well Greenup reflects a shared commitment among community partners to create practical, engaging opportunities for residents to make healthier choices and thrive.
Leslie holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree as a Registered Nurse and earned a Graduate Certificate in Population Health from the University of Kentucky. She believes strong communities are built through relationships, collaboration, and shared ownership. Family, friends, pets, and community connections are important sources of support in her own life. She recognizes that everyone benefits when people feel connected, supported, and empowered to live healthier lives.
