I am the Student Experiences Coordinator with the Academic Health Department at the Center for Health Equity. My role is essential by helping students gain meaningful and practical experience in public health.
I graduated in 2008 with my B.A., double majoring in history and sociology, with an emphasis on medical sociology and health inequities. I joined the Center for Health Equity in 2022 with over 15 years of social service experience working within the fields of community mental health, state waiver programs, and non-profit services.
I am passionate about my role with The Center for Healthy Equity because assisting in building a diverse public health workforce is essential to community change. Diversity in public health is an important part in addressing health inequities by removing barriers to fundamental resources, community building, and improving the health of those that are typically underserved and underrepresented.
Some of my hobbies and interests include being a horror aficionado, writer, and artist. I enjoy hiking, volunteering, and attending music festivals with my beloved family and friends.
