Jessie Parker

Federal Program Specialist
Kentucky Department for Public Health
Frankfort, Kentucky

Jessie Parker became the Prevention Lead for the HIV/AIDS section within the Kentucky Department for Public Health in August of 2021. Her role in the department has allowed her to develop and recommend policy and procedures among staff and community-based partners to ensure compliance with a federally funded grant, as well as establish and maintain the budget and all required reporting for the grant.

Prior to stepping into her role, she worked for the Department for Public Health in WIC as a program coordinator, the Department of Professional Licensing as a board administrator for several health-related professions, and for the Legislative Research Commission (LRC) where she began her state career.  Jessie graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and knew from her internship with the Kentucky General Assembly through LRC that she wanted her career to focus on public service.  When not at work, Jessie enjoys spending time with her husband of 16 years, and her daughter who is 12 years old.
