Champayne Coulter currently serves as the Health Equity Manager for Lincoln Trail District Health Department. The Lincoln Trail District covers six counties and serves roughly 230,000 people. In her role, she collaborates with staff and community partners to identify health disparities that exist within the local community. She serves as the leader of the agency health equity department and Health Equity Advisory Liaison (HEAL) team by utilizing a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens to evaluate current and future agency practices. Together, the HEAL team works to assess staff capacity and knowledge of health equity concepts to guide future efforts. The purpose of the HEAL team is to develop and execute strategies to further promote equity throughout the agency and community, to implement equity training for fellow employees, and to continuously maintain a growth mindset. Upon further development, she will also lead the HEAL team in further developing multisector partnerships to support the completion of a health equity assessment and community health improvement plan.
She is a graduate from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health. She aspires to attend University of Louisville School of Medicine in the future to become a physician and continue to serve her community.
